about Camilo González R

Camilo González R, was born in Medellín - Colombia in 1982 and started in music at the age of eight, studying piano and guitar, and showing special interest in generes such as Opera, Jazz and Rock.


Studied Music Composition at Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, and graduated in 2009. Later, in 2013 he completed the program of Master of Arts in Music Composition at Universidad EAFIT.


He currently lives in Canberra - Australia, and works as a freelance composer, orchestrator, performer and teacher.

 

Both in commercial and artistic music production, his music is intense and profound, achieving high exposition such as his trilogy for symphonic orchestra “Fantasia del Agua”, written for the premiere of the dancing water fountain of Empresas Publicas de Medellín and Alcaldía de Medellín in 2009; his Concerto for Jazz quartet and symphonic orchestra “Gibraltar”, world premiered in Havana-Cuba in october 2011; and original music for the acclaimed theatre play "Veneno" in 2012.


His music includes a variety of styles such as jazz, contemporary, and experimental, combined in a musical language that draws sonorities from all periods of music.
